CE cert for cold water
CE cert for cold water
Regsets with a CE cold water certificate have been tested in waters below 10 degrees. When diving in NL/BE this comes in handy. In summer, the water on the surface may be warmer than 10 degrees, however, when decending to greater depths, you’ll hit various thermoclines in which the water temperature may be less than 10 degrees.
Size
Size
Most BCD’s are unisex, which means that both men and women can wear them. BCD’s for women are especially designed for women. These BCD’s are more narrow at the shoulders and shorter in length, to ensure that it is snug around the waist. Children’s BCD’s are available in smaller sizes.
Lumen
Lumen
Light is expressed in Lumen. The higher the Lumen, the brighter the light

Purge valve
Purge valve
A snorkel with a purge valve at the bottom will be easier to clear, since the water can flow out at the bottom of the snorkel.
1st stage connection
1st stage connection
The INT ( yoke) connection uses a clamp type to mount the regulator over the cylinder valve and is tightened into place by screwing the cap. This pushes the first stage into the sealing o-ring of the cylinder valve. With the DIN fitting the male part is screwed into the valve to securely capture the o-ring. We recommend the DIN connection, since this is a safer connection. This connection is mostly used for 300bar cylinders. However, the DIN300 bar connection also works with a 200bar tank valve

Features
Features
Mesh bags are made out of mesh material, which allows the water to escape. Carry-on sized bags can be used as cabin luggage. Waterproof bags can be used to keep the water out, but also to keep your gear from leaking in, for instance, your car.
Size
Integrated weight system
Integrated weight system
BCD’s which have an integrated weight system are already equipped with weight pockets. The weights themselves are never included. BCD’s which have an optional integrated weight system are not equipped with weight pockets. These can be purchased separately. BCD’s which have no pockets for the weight can only be used with a weight belt.
Run time
Run time
The run time is the amount of minutes at maximum strength. After the run time, the torch will shine for another couple of hours, however at a lower light capacity. The run time was measured at room temperature. Diving in colder water may decrease the run time.
PC-interface
PC-interface
The PC-interface lets you transfer the data from your dive computer to your PC or laptop. This way you can create and update a digital logbook. The software can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website.
Lamp head
Lamp head
The power of the torch head is indicated in W of Watt. The higher the power, the higher the brightness and the shorter the run time.
Length in CM
Length in CM
Length of entire knife in cm
Dry top
Dry top
A snorkel with a dry-top has a lever, which will close the top of the snorkel so that water will not flow into it when diving below the surface.
1st stage HP port
1st stage HP port
A second high pressure port on a 1st stage is necesarry if you are contemplating to dive with a computer that is air integrated. The transmitter will be attached to the second high pressure port so that you will always have backup analogue SPG.
Type
Material
Material
Most knives are made of steel. Titanium knives weigh less and are not prone to rust. Ceramic knives are the very sharp
BCD Type
BCD Type
A jacket BCD has air-chambers at the sides of the BCD. A wing BCD only has a bladder at the back. The pro’s of a jacket is that it will be easier to stay up-right at the surface. The pro of using a wing is that you will have more freedom of movement at the sides and front of the body.
Use
Use
You can fit a complete dive kit in a bag from 70L and upwards, depending on the thickness of your suit. In NL/BE you will probably need a 90L bag to fit all your gear in. In a bag which is 120L or larger, you will be able to fit 2 dive sets.
Type of wetsuit
Guaranteed lumen
Guaranteed lumen
A torch with guaranteed lumen has special electronics built in, which make sure that during the run time the guaranteed lumen will shine. After the run time, the brightness of the lumen decreases. Torches without guaranteed lumen will decrease in brightness during their run time

Material
Material
Rash guards are made of Lycra and protect you against the sun. Thermoguards are made of thinner neoprene and will protect you against the sun and will keep you warmer
Battery
Battery
Torches with separate batteries cannot be recharged. Optional rechargeable torches work with batteries, however can be expanded with a charger and battery pack. Rechargeable torches are delivered with a rechargeable battery pack and charger
Tip
Inflator
Inflator
A standard inflator is situated on the top left shoulder strap, allowing you to inflate and deflate the inflator with two buttons at the end of the inflator. An i3 inflator is situated on the lower left side of the BCD. The advantage of the i3 inflator is that it is attached on to the vest and easier to find. Another advantage is that you don’t have to change your position in the water to deflate the BCD.

Hose type
Hose type
Flex hoses are, as the word already describes it, more flexible than rubber hoses. By using these types of hoses the chance of your 2nd stage fitting more comfortable in your mouth, is doubled. The flex hoses are also easier to roll up for transportation and a little lighter than rubber hoses.
Attachment
Attachment
When attaching the knife to your calf, you can use the strap. With a BCD you can either stow your knife in one of the pockets. Alternatively you can mount it to your pocket – this is brand specific sou se an Aqualung knife fora n Aqualung BCD. If you would like to mount the knife to the inflator, you could use the tool provided. Some knives can be attached to a weight belt or attached to the webbing, using the provided slits
Charging time
Charging time
The charging time is based on a completely empty battery. The charging time is shorter if the battery is partially full
Air integrated
Air integrated
With an air integrated function on your computer, you can view the cylinder pressure. The pressure is transmitted by the transmitter or by the high pressure hose connected to the dive computer. With some computers it is possible to connect several transmitters to one computer. I.e. when you dive with several different gas blends.

Externably chargeable
Externably chargeable
An externally rechargeable torch does not need to be opened for it to charge. This makes it easier to use and less prone to leakage

These attachment options come with the knife. If there are more mounting possibilities then your can buy these tools seperately
Semi-dry
Semi-dry
A semi drysuit has cuff seals at the wrists and ankles which allow less cold water to flow in, out and through the suit. Because of this, you will keep warm longer. A semi drysuit with a drysuit zipper ensures that no water will enter the suit through the zipper and that you will stay drier and warmer in the suit.
Digital compass
Digital compass
With a digital compass on your dive computer you’ll be able to navigate underwater and will not need the analogue compass any longer
Beam
Beam
A tortch with a narrow beam (spot) has a smaller beam angle, between 7 upto 20 degrees. You will be needing this is darker waters such as here in NL/BE. A torch with a broader beam (flood or wide) will illuminate a larger area. This type of beam is mostly used for photography and videography to make sure the light is evenly dispersed. A torch with an adjustable beam can be adjusted during a dive
1st stage ACD
1st stage ACD
Several regset manufactured by Aqualung have the ACD system. This system makes sure that water will not get in to the 1st stage after diving or even if you have forgotten to put on your dust cap when you rinse your materials.
Battery
Battery
Many dive computers allow you to change the battery yourself. Even though doing it yourself may seem simple, we recommend that you have the battery changed at your local dealer, whom subsequently will also do a pressure test to make sure your computer is waterproof again. Rechargeable batteries can be charged with the provided cable.
1st stage air supply
1st stage air supply
When you dive with an unbalanced 1st stage, breathing may become a little harder as your cylinder is being depleted of air. A balanced 1st stage will give you an even resistance during your dive, as long as your cylinder contains more than 20 Bar. An overbalanced 1st stage will give you a little more pressure when at depth, which will make breathing at greater depth easier. You will be able to feel the difference from a depth of 20 to 25 meters.
Dimmable
Dimmable
A dimmable torch usually has 2 to 3 settings to dim the light. By dimming the intensity of the light you can extend the run time
Dive mode
Dive mode
A bottom timer is a depth guage and timer in one. The freedive mode measures the same as the bottom timer, however it measures in seconds. The air mode is the standard dive mode. The nitrox mode allows you to dive with a higher oxygen %. Trimix is a blend of oxygen, nitrogen and helium. And the rebreather recycles part of the gas that you have used.
1st stage type
1st stage type
A piston 1st stage is easier to service, since there are less parts. However, a piston 1st stage needs to be serviced earlier than other 1st stages, since the water does get inside the 1st stage. A membrane 1st stage may be less maintanace- sensitive, however, you’ll have to be more precise in adjusting it. If you would like to dive in cold(er) waters, we would recommend a 1st stage with a membrane.
Switch
Switch
Lamps with a rotating head need to be screwed tight for them to turn on. Lamps with a mechanical switch can be switched on and off through a butten. With lamps with a magnetic switch there are no openings in the housing of the lamp, which reduces the risk of leakage
Planning mode
Planning mode
With the planning feature on the computer you will be able to preparer for your planned dive and you’ll be able to see how long you can stay at various depths
Display
Display
A regular screen consists of digital stripes which show the details on the screen. A dot-matrix screen consists of smaller pixels, which makes the visability better because of a higher contrast in the screen. A full colour screen has the best visability.
2nd stage venturi regulator
2nd stage venturi regulator
A venturi switch is a + and – switch on the 2nd stages that regulates airflow. When the switch is switched to the -, the 2nd stage will not free flow when entering the water. When it is switched to the +, breathing is easiest.

Switch gasses
Switch gasses
The gas switch feature allows you switch gas blends during a dive. I.e. when you are diving with Nitrox 32% and would like to do a safety stop with Nitrox 50%.
2nd stage breathing resistance
2nd stage breathing resistance
With an adjustable breathing resistance switch on the 2nd stage you will be able to adjust the flow of air when inhaling. You may experience a free flow with your 2nd stage when doing a drift dive or if there is a strong current. If you would adjust the switch to a higher resistance, then your 2nd stage will not free flow.
Personalise display
Personalise display
A dive computer that is adjustable to personal settings will allow you to adjust the settings and where information is shown on the screen. With some computers you can even adjust the size of the font
2nd stage air supply
2nd stage air supply
A balanced 2ns stage will make inhaling easier than an unbalanced 2nd stage. If you were to use an overbalanced 1st stage then you’ll always have to use a balanced 2nd stage.
Type of undergarment
Type of undergarment
A full is a one-piece suit. Trousers and a shirt will give you more variety in mixing and matching undersuits. Socks will give extra warmth to your feet.
Software update DIY
Software update DIY
These computers allow you to run firmware updates yourself. However, with most computers, to run the firmware updates, you will need the PC-interface
EN250A
EN250A
Regulator sets with an EN250A marking have been tested by breathing simultaniously through the primary 2nd stage and the octopus. This will increase the pressure that is put on the 1st stage and these regsets have passed that specific test. These sets can be used with an octopus up to a depth of 30 meters. Below 30 meters a separate air system with an extra 1st stage is advised.
Insolation
Insolation
With a trilaminate drysuit, typically an undersuit of 200 grams or thicker is used. When wearing a neoprene drysuit, undersuits up to 200 grams are recommended, depending on the tickness of the neoprene.
